European Co-Production: National Film Institute Hungary Becomes Partner

01. July 2021 –

EPI's renowned European Co-Production workshop will take place in Budapest in 2021

We are thrilled to announce EPI's partnership with the National Film Institute Hungary (NFI) as the Local Partner for our workshop European Co-Production - Legal and Financial Aspects. Taking place in the beautiful city of Budapest from October 28-30, the workshop will offer its participants exclusive insights into the making of recent European co-productions (feature films and drama series) as well as a comprehensive overview of the legal and financial elements of co-productions. Participants also benefit from various networking and group collaboration opportunities throughout the workshop.

Eszter Lányi, Training Director of the NFI, says: "We at the National Film Institute Hungary are working hard to promote European co-productions and therefore becoming the local partner of EPI's European Co-Production workshop seemed like an obvious choice. It’s an incredible chance for our industry members to attend EPI’s high-quality workshop and also to meet like-minded European professionals."

We are also happy to announce the first renowned speakers of the workshop:

  • Wolfgang Brehm, Attourney at Law / Partner, Brehm & v. Moers
  • Sára László, Producer, Campfilm
  • Bernie Stampfer, Founder, International Film Partners

An open lecture on the eve of the workshop will offer its participants as well as selected local industry professionals a comprehensive overview of the current industry framework for co-production and highlight its challenges and opportunities, with a special focus on Central Europe. The lecture will be followed by a Q&A session and networking (in collaboration with the Creative Europe MEDIA Desk Hungary).

European Co-Production is supported by the Creative Europe - MEDIA program of the European Union as part of EPI's acclaimed training series Essential Legal Framework. More information and registration here.

Many thanks to our partners, and we look forward to hosting this truly European program in Budapest!
