Cutting-edge and industry-oriented

The EPI sees itself as a think tank and focuses its work on current developments in the media industry as well as on challenges presented by an increasingly digital world. Expertise and competent consulting emerge from an industry-oriented approach, creating new momentum for policy and business.

Experienced and multifaceted

As early as the 1920s, Erich Pommer brought back numerous new approaches and technologies, such as production schedules, cost estimating and dollies, from the US when returning to Germany. In 1933, he emigrated with his family. He worked together with Fritz Lang in France, with Alfred Hitchcock in England and eventually went to Hollywood. He returned to Germany in 1946 and supported the rebuilding of the German film industry as the US Army’s film control officer.
