Review
In March, the 2022/2023 editions of Audiovisual Women and SERIES’ WOMEN, EPI’s international female leadership programs for the media industry, came to a successful conclusion with a joint HR module on gender equality and diversity management. By supporting female producers and managers, the programs aim to increase the visibility and industry exposure of female professionals and female-driven projects, support the building of professional networks and strive to tackle overall underrepresentation in the industry. We are thrilled and thankful to be able to accompany and boost such a driven group of women.
In Audiovisual Women’s inaugural edition, 15 female managers from 12 different countries were selected. The leadership program is designed for female executives in mid- and senior-level management positions in the audiovisual industry, offering a highly interdisciplinary approach to professional and personal development. With two residential workshops in Berlin and Munich and online modules, the participants had the opportunity to intensively work on the topics of communication, leadership, or change and innovation management, as well as build a strong network of female managers from the European industry. During an event organized in Munich, the women could get to know and network with representatives from the local audiovisual industry.
In the second edition of SERIES’ WOMEN, 15 female producers from 12 European countries participated in the international career enhancement program for producers of European drama series. Within the residential workshops, the participants had the opportunity to visit two important industry events, Series Mania Forum in Lille, and TV Drama Vision by Göteborg Film Festival. During the visit to Sweden, the SERIES’ WOMEN program organized a networking event with the local partner, Kulturakademin, where Azra Osmancevic from Viaplay Group gave a keynote on leadership. Each of the participating women received mentoring from senior industry professionals. For this year’s edition, mentors were i.a. Ed Guiney (Element Pictures / Ireland), Violetta Kaminska (Apple Film 7 Poland), or Carlotta Calori (Indigo Film / Italy).
Both international programs will return in spring 2023 with new editions. More information on Audiovisual Women is available here and on SERIES’ WOMEN here.
