e:training - media expertise on the go

07. December 2015 –
The Erich Pommer Institut is launching the first flexible online programme of further training for the European media industry

The Erich Pommer Institut (EPI) is launching the e:training project on 9 December to offer online practice-oriented further training for the media industry for the first time. Independent of any “offline seminar”, the EPI is thus offering a flexible and individual way of acquiring knowledge about the industry and following current trends. The e:training online further training course can be run on every web-enabled end device (computer, smartphone, tablet) – according to one's own preferences regarding time and place and with your own learning speed.

Continuous education is the foundation of professional success. Busy people often complain, though, about the lack of time and the difficulties of being able to integrate a seminar into their work and family life. This is where e:training steps in and offers an innovative and contemporary path to professional further training. At the centre are flexibility and individuality as well as the direct access to essential knowledge about the industry. The digital further training programme combines high-quality and didactically prepared video material with accompanying texts, downloads, checklists as well as quizzes testing one's knowledge, thereby achieving an effective, entertaining and lasting learning experience. In addition, the online further training programme is cost- and time-efficient.

e:training will begin with the “European Co-Production“ programme. The course consists of 10 audiovisual chapters mentored by leading international industry experts, incl. Lene Børglum, Space Rocket Nation, producer of ONLY GOD FORGIVES, executive producer of DOGVILLE, VALHALLA RISING, Denmark; Stephan Mallmann, HanWay Films, shareholder, non-executive director, UK; Bernie Stampfer, International Film Partners, Germany. Apart from providing essential information on the financial and legal parameters for international co-productions and exclusive insider knowledge, the online course will also offer two case studies: A MOST WANTED MAN (USA | GER | UK) and LOUDER THAN BOMBS (NOR | F | DK). The course language is English.

„We are very proud that e:training will enable us to offer an innovative and high quality product for further training in order to respond to the challenges of a working environment that is increasingly coming under pressure. We are flexible in time and place in how we provide this practical industry knowledge. With immediate effect, e:training can now make professional further training accessible to a much wider circle of people”, says Nadja Radojevic, CEO and Director of Training at the Erich Pommer Institut.

Other subject areas will gradually be prepared as online training courses under the e:training label. The publication of an e:training course on rights clearance is planned for 2016.
