EPI is now offering selected online Master Classes from the global manufacturer of motion picture film equipment ARRI.
As the end of the year approaches, acclaimed cinematographer Julio Macat ASC (HOME ALONE, WEDDING CRASHERS) offers valuable tips in his Christmas Master Class (from 2019) on how camera movement can capture the holiday spirit, how to light a night interior and how to create dynamics and emotion with camera movement. He also gives exclusive insights into his camera work and role on film sets.
In the ARRI Academy Master Class Large Format Cinematography (from 2018), James Laxton ASC (MOONLIGHT, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK) shares his experiences with large-format cameras, with a focus on lighting design to create mood in a scene. He explains the emotional value of color and gives insights into his latest projects. Both classes were recorded at the Cameraimage (International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography) in Poland.
The aim of these online courses is to familiarise film professionals with leading camera technology. Thus, the ARRI Master Classes complement the existing eTraining programme at EPI with valuable input from the field of media technology.
