Erich Pommer Institut (EPI) appoints new CEO

19. May 2020 –

Press: Philipp Künstle is the new CEO of the Erich Pommer Institut (EPI).

Philipp Künstle has been with the institute since 2017. In his last position he was responsible for the degree course department. He succeeds Nadja Radojevic, who left EPI as CEO at her own request after 14 years at the end of March taking on the position of CEO at ifs in Cologne.

Philipp Künstle is looking forward to the new challenge: "In addition to expanding our degree courses, I see great potential in the internationalization and digitalization of our further training offers, also beyond the audio-visual industry. The EPI has faced the current crisis quickly and effectively, offering specialized advanced training programmes. With its practical approach, the institute will continue to support media professionals in this special time in order to provide them with a significant advantage when things get back to normal.”

The President of the Babelsberg Film University KONRAD WOLF Prof. Dr. Susanne Stürmer: “Philipp Künstle very successfully implemented EPI's degree courses and recently established the first certificate course. In addition to the excellent conceptual work, he quickly excelled with leadership qualities, a high level of acceptance and new impulses. I am convinced that he will be leading EPI well through the current situation and that he’ll be laying the right foundation for further development. I would like to thank Nadja Radojevic for her successful efforts to further establish the EPI as one of the most renowned training institutes in Germany and Europe.”

Philipp Künstle studied Popular Music and Media (B.A.) and Music and Creative Industries (M.A.). He started his professional career in Los Angeles as Marketing Manager for the National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP) with further positions as Music Supervisor for feature films until 2016 and project manager for web and IT projects.

The Erich Pommer Institute (EPI) is one of the leading providers of advanced training in the German and European media landscape and a recognized industry-specific think tank. With its expertise in media law and management and with a variety of formats and publications, the EPI supports the on-going process of digital transformation in the media industry. The Erich Pommer Institute was founded in Potsdam-Babelsberg in 1998 as an independent non-profit limited company and is an institute affiliated with the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and the University of Potsdam.
